Helen Keller's pumpThis page lists articles of interest to parents of children with disabilities.  We hope you are able to use the information here as a start to getting a little bit more help for your children.  Please remember that tax laws are complicated, and it is best if you consult your tax professional if you have any questions.

This is the pump from Helen Keller's house in Tuscumbia, Alabama, in a photo taken during my 2009 vacation.  We can all be inspired from the breakthrough she made here, and know that all persons with disabilities can succeed with the right effort.

For example, the best meal I had during my Rome vacation was at the Locanda dei Girasoli.  All the servers have Down Syndrome, but the service was quick, responsive, and efficient. The food was delicious and well presented. It is a short subway ride from the center of Rome, Italy, in the Quadraro suburb. The restaurant does not open until 7:30 pm, so we went to see the Quadraro street-art murals nearby.

The Chicago Tribune recently had an article describing new opportunities for those workers with disabilities: Not just a feel-good step: Businesses are increasingly hiring people with disabilities, and itís helping the bottom line
